Field: Removal of Spare Room Subsidy Indicator

Description

The Removal of the Spare Room Subsidy (RSRS) indicator denotes whether the Housing Benefit claimant is receiving a reduction in their Housing Benefit due to the RSRS. It is derived from source data on the weekly amount of reduction due to the RSRS, where a positive numerical amount indicates a weekly reduction.

This applies to working age claimants in the Social Rented Sector who are not subject to an exemption and who are assessed as having too many bedrooms according to their need as set out by the social sector size criteria. Working age is defined as those who are below the state pension age.
